LinkedIn makes B2B sexy with help from Corporate Natalie and Ryan Reynolds (copywriter)
Ok I helped, too. Here’s my thing about B2B: it’s inherently dense and can often be dry. Like a well-done steak. How can you fix that? Well, you bring in a chef who knows how to cook.
LinkedIn tapped me to write their second-ever NewFronts keynote, and I was super excited to use my event scripting experience and tackle this challenge. This year it was all about video products, so there was a lot to talk about, because “video” and “LinkedIn” haven’t exactly been traveling in the same circles. Until now.
The foundation of the message is actually really important. LinkedIn is THE social network for business. There’s literally nothing else that comes close. We built on top of that with new offerings like in-feed products, measurement solutions, new shows with B2B creators, and reframing the psychology of growing your network with a hot new buzzword—Buyability. You can use that at your next sales dinner, I’m sure it’ll crush.
I wrote scripts for all seven speakers, handled several rounds of edits, wrote Corporate Natalie’s MC sections (a real joy tbh), and worked very closely with both the LinkedIn team and production partners Raw Cereal and Nueuemotion. And I didn’t write Ryan Reynolds’s lines, he was just there for the Q&A. But we did make eye contact once.
If you want to see the show, it’s.right over here.
